In Memory - Paula Zanni

On December 18, 2009 we lost a member, a great friend and the spirit of ASWA when Paula Zanni passed away unexpectedly.
Paula joined the Mesa East Valley Chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants in 2002, quickly becoming active on the chapter board. She served several board and committee positions eventually serving as our President in 2005-2006. Her leadership helped our small chapter achieve big dreams and many of our member develop their own leadership skills. She then moved on to serve as Regional Director bringing about positive changes to the way Regional Directors support the organization, chapters and members. In May 2009 she joined the National Board as a National Director serving on the Membership Committee.
Her big smile and even bigger heart affected everyone she met and she will forever be missed by her ASWA friends and colleagues. There are still some big dreams left to fulfill and our members will have to work that much harder to achieve them without her. Our chapter will never be the same. No one can replace Paula or even come close to filling her shoes, but at least she left us with some good footprints to follow.
To help us share her commitment to ASWA, we have established an annual scholarship in Paula’s name. Contributions have been and will continue to be raised to ensure her efforts to help women accountants achieve their full personal, professional and economic potential continue for years to come. Please contact any of our Chapter Board Members if you would like to support our scholarship efforts.
Donations to support the Paula Zanni Memorial Scholarship can be made at our AFWA National Website.
Thanks from the Zanni Family
I would like to thank your group of wonderful women for you generous out pouring of love and generosity on behalf of our beloved Paula. We are so grateful for all of it. Our hearts are heavy and hurting but will always remember the things done for her in this life. She loved you all and talked of the hopes she had for the association. Please continue in the course you have started. In love of God and Paula, Dominick and Jean Zanni
I would like to thank everyone from the ASWA for all the support to my family and to keep Paula’s goals alive and to complete them. You know how much it meant to Paula and means to my family. Thank you so much. Pay It Forward. Diana Zanni
