Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance: About Us
The Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance is the home for all women accounting and financial professionals whether new to the field, experienced or considering a career transition.
The mission of the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance is to enable women in all accounting and finance fields to achieve their full potential and to contribute to their profession.
The Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance was formed as the American Society of Women Accountants in 1938 to increase the opportunities for women in all fields of accounting and finance. Members include partners in national, regional and local CPA firms, financial officers, controllers, academicians, financial analysts, and financial advisors and recent college graduates and women returning to the work force. The majority of members have obtained professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, CIA, and CFP.
AFWA is a national association with several chapters in Arizona including Flagstaff and Valley of the Sun Chapter (formerly Mesa East Valley and Phoenix).
